Background

When a business grows more complex, its website should work harder to make that complexity easier to understand.

Legacy Companies is a holding company that owns and operates businesses serving essential human needs while also participating in strategic partnerships. As the organization grew, its structure became more layered, spanning wholly owned companies and partner-led investments across multiple divisions. The existing website did not clearly explain how these pieces fit together.

Challenges & Accommodations
Making visual sense of how Legacy and all of its pieces fit together.

Clear site architecture and content organization were necessary to explain Legacy itself as a business, as well as its layered ownership, since Legacy owns some businesses outright while participating in others through partnerships. A portion of the redesigned website is devoted to describing Legacy, while a dedicated Portfolio page provides more context on its investments by organizing operating companies and partnerships in one place. Culture and values are threaded throughout the site to demonstrate consistent operations across their businesses.
