Overview

Since 2008, CWP Design has helped hospitals, universities, hotels, nonprofits, and family businesses rebrand when the brand they started with no longer fits who they’ve become. Strategy, identity, copywriting, and web, from first workshop through rollout.

Our Unique Edge
Built for brands with more than one audience

Most agencies design for a single audience. We build brands that need to work for several at once: the founder and the successor, the longtime donor and the new one, the parent and the student. That’s the hardest branding problem there is, and it’s the one we’ve spent years getting right.

Philadelphia is home, and most of our clients are in the region. But the work travels. We’ve built brands for clients nationwide in education, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, nonprofit, professional services, and tech. What our clients have in common isn’t industry. It’s a moment: the organization grew, and the brand didn’t keep up.

After launch, Brand Alliance keeps the work alive. We act as your brand team: keeping materials consistent, supporting campaigns, and evolving the system as you grow. It exists because the most common way brands fall apart is slowly, after the agency leaves.

Case study
NephCure Kidney International

NephCure’s Countdown to a Cure gala is its biggest fundraising event of the year, and CWP has helped shape its look for years. We’ve designed invitations, program materials, event signage, presentation slides, and digital graphics, creating a cohesive experience from the first announcement through the event itself. In one of those years, the gala raised nearly $1.3 million, almost double NephCure’s previous best.

FAQs
Do you only work with Philadelphia companies?2026-10-12T18:16:37-04:00

We’re based on the Main Line, just outside Philadelphia, and much of our work is local, but we serve clients nationwide. Strategy sessions run in person or remote, and every deliverable ships the same way regardless of where you are.

Who will we actually work with?2026-09-25T20:18:28-04:00

You’ll work directly with Corey Pontz, CWP’s founder and Creative Principal, on strategy and creative direction. Emma Magnus, our Studio Manager, manages the schedule, details, and day-to-day communication. Depending on the project, you may also work directly with one of our designers, and the developers or other specialists bringing the work to life. We’re a small team, and you’ll know who’s doing what.

What’s the difference between a rebrand and a brand refresh?2026-09-10T10:18:23-04:00

A refresh keeps your existing positioning and updates how it looks and sounds. A rebrand goes deeper and rethinks the position itself: who you serve, what you promise, and why it matters. If your organization has changed since the brand was built, a refresh usually isn’t enough. We help you figure out which one you actually need before you commit to either.

Will we lose the recognition we’ve built?2026-09-10T10:19:46-04:00

No. A good rebrand carries your equity forward. We start by identifying what your audiences already recognize and trust, and we protect it. What changes is everything that was holding you back.

What is Brand Alliance?2026-09-10T10:23:42-04:00

Brand Alliance is our ongoing partnership program. After launch, we act as your brand team: keeping materials consistent, supporting campaigns, and evolving the system as you grow.

How long does a rebrand take?2026-09-25T20:15:37-04:00

A typical CWP rebrand takes 2 to 6 months from kickoff to launch. Strategy takes about 2-3 weeks, identity design 4 weeks, and the website 8-12 weeks. Rollout support continues after launch.
